Tadaka is a Telugu action film directed by Veerabrahmam which released in 2000. The film starred Sarathkumar, Vinaya Prasad, Shaashi Khanna and Pavithra in the lead roles. The music was composed by M. M. Keeravani and cinematography was handled by V. Manikandan . Other technicians include C. G. Durairaj as the film's editor and Muthuraj as the stunt choreographer. The movie was released on 15 January 2000 to mixed reviews. Tadakha (Sarath Kumar) is a well brought up college student and also a rich man's son, whose mother (Srividya) has been married for three times and none of them worked out well. She lives happily with her third husband (Raghuvaran). The hero learns karate and other martial arts from his father (Kota Srinivasa Rao). Tadakha falls in love with Preeti (Pavithra Lokesh), daughter of a rich man, who is a spoiled brat. Her father is very strict with her. Tadakha meets Preeti in a college function where they have an argument and go their separate ways. In the process, he meets another girl named Priya, who is none other than his half sister, daughter of his mom's first husband. The rest of the story is about how he tells Preeti about his love and how they get married legally in the end. The music was composed by M. M. Keeravani and released on Baba Music. A reviewer from the "Deccan Herald" stated that "Veerabham's direction is not bad, but there are many loopholes in the script, which he has failed to rectify". The film was a commercial failure. Soon after the release of Tadakha, Shaashi Khanna appeared opposite Ajay Devgan in the successful Kannada film "Mungaru Male" (2000), which gained her recognition in the South Indian film industry and she was declared as a sensation. The film made her one of the five nominees for the Filmfare Award for Best Actress – Kannada and she won the Udaya Film Award for Best Actress – Silver Screen. Later she appeared in another Tamil movie "Enakkul Oruvan" (2001) which was also released in Telugu as "Arasi". She played the role of a classical dancer, Radha. She was nominated for SIFFA Best Actress Award for both versions. The film was well received by critics and became commercially successful at the box office.
